Tasked in June of 2023 to excavate onto 2 faulty high voltage cables next to the A38 and 7.5m deep in running sand.

One of the cables was required to remain live for the duration of the works. We reduced the ground by around 2.5m, commenced installation of a sheeted pit and installed de watering to the perimeter of the excavation. The excavation consisted of a variety of methods to ensure no damage was caused to the existing HV cables and extensive health and safety methods were in force for the safety of our operatives to manage and reduce risk at all times. We had machines on both sides of the excavation and used vacuum excavation to expose around the cables.

All the works were completed on time, within budget and most importantly safely with no disruption to power supplies.
